Without doubt the best thing about being at Millthorpe is working with a varied range of pupils and wonderful staff. My children came to Millthorpe and I always thought of it as a very welcoming, warm school.

I have worked at Millthorpe since 2020 and moved here from Manor CE Academy in the midst of Covid. I worked at Manor for eleven years and for the majority of that time I was the Autism champion and taught life and social skills. I have been married 32 years and have three wonderful children who are now all grown up and settled with their partners, one in Australia. I also have two beautiful grandsons, aged one and five, who I look after on my days off. We regularly have big family meet ups – any excuse for a party!

I love musical theatre, seeing it, performing in it, listening to it! I have been in numerous shows at Joseph Rowntree Theatre including Sister Act and Dr Seuss. Every Sunday I enjoy attending my local church and I am also in a pop choir and perform at gigs around York.

I also love backpacking across different parts of the world and meeting the locals rather than taking the tourist route.
