Last week, Year 9 student, Stan Sawyer, took to the water once more to compete in the GB Next Gen Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
Racing against some of the best swimmers in the country, Stan qualified for four individual races and one team relay, and made it through to an impressive three finals. He came sixth in the 50m Backstroke, fifth in the 100m Backstroke and a remarkable second in his final race of the day, the 200m Backstroke.
This is an incredible achievement for Stan’s first ever British Championship meet and we couldn’t be prouder of him.
This week Stan will be back in the pool in Sheffield competing at the English Nationals Championships. Good luck Stan – we’re cheering you on!
