Welcome back!
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful summer. We’re really excited to be starting a new school year, welcoming our new Year 7s for the first time and welcoming back our existing students.
Last year’s Year 11s did themselves proud with a fantastic set of GCSE results forged from challenging circumstances and it was great to see them on results day already looking so grown up. It’s hard to believe that this time last year we were still wearing face coverings and following other COVID measures. Although COVID is by no means gone, it’s fantastic to be back to something so much more like normal.
Here’s to an incredible year!
Kind regards
Gemma Greenhalgh
Headteacher

Building improvements
It’s been a busy summer on the school site, with a whole raft of improvement works going on. Students will be able to benefit from a wonderful new canopy next to the dining room, brand new modern toilets, two new classrooms and a revamped Music Room.
There is still some work required to extend the dining room and replace one set of toilets, in which some structural complications arose: this should be done in the next few weeks.
Website
As some of you will already have seen, we launched our shiny new website in the summer. You can have a look around here:Β https://millthorpeschool.co.uk/
