Who should I contact?

For general enquiries, please contact the school office.

For reporting any absence, please ring 01904 686400 and choose Option 1, text 07860 040381 or email attendance@millthorpe.elt.org.uk before 8.30am on each day, giving your child’s name, form and the reason for the absence.

For pastoral issues and enquiries, please contact your child’s form tutor in the first instance. The form tutor will share with the Deputy Head of Year if/when appropriate.

For academic issues and enquiries, please contact your child’s subject teacher in the first instance. The subject teacher will share with the Head of Faculty if/when appropriate.

If you contact the school, we will aim to get back to you within three working days. Enquiries will be directed to the most appropriate member of our team.

You can telephone the school office between 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday-Friday. Our office staff are:

Messages can be left on the school answering machine out of office hours.

If we are unable to resolve your enquiry when you call, details will be passed to the most appropriate member of our team and we will aim to respond within three working days.

Meetings in person

All face-to-face meetings must be arranged in advance. For safeguarding reasons, we are only able to allow visitors on site if they have a pre-arranged meeting.

How to find us

Millthorpe is situated in the heart of the South Bank area of York with the main entrance at the end of Nunthorpe Avenue off Scarcroft Road. There is a second entrance at the top of Philadelphia Terrace. This is open for all students to arrive and leave at the beginning and end of school but is kept locked during the school day.

Millthorpe is a five minute walk from Blossom street which has bus stops for most major routes including the number 1, 10 and 16 buses from Acomb and Holgate, number 4 and 12 buses from Foxwood and Woodthorpe and number 11 and 12 buses from Heworth and Haxby. The number 11 has stops in South Bank on Scarcroft Road, Bishopthorpe Road and Queen Victoria Street, all of which are a few minutes walk from Millthorpe.
