A message from Ms Greenhalgh
It’s been a week of mixed emotions for us this week –Β we waved goodbye to our Year 11 students at our traditional Leavers’ AssemblyΒ and can’t wait to celebrate with them at the School Prom this evening. But, as one group of students moves on to pastures new, another cohort is waiting in the wings to take their places at Millthorpe. We’re really looking forward to meeting our new students who will join us in September, at our transition events next week. Looking further into the future, we’ve also been pleased to welcome in Year 5 students from a number of local primary schools to spend some time in a ‘grown up’ science department.
It has been wonderful to see so many of our students going out on Geography field trips once again after a long period of time, with groups visiting Bolton Abbey and Flamborough last week and Hornsea this week. Our intrepid Duke of Edinburgh students in Year 10 have also been out on overnight expeditions.
There are not many more school days left now until the summer break, but there is still a lot to fit in with more trips in KS3 and the summer concert just around the corner.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend!
