I have been working with pupils since the age of 16 years old. I have taught and supported pupils from 12 months – 18 years old.  This isn’t my first career though. For many years I worked in banking and I loved it. I worked in international business – I know what the 2008 market crash is all about.

After many years in finance I decided to follow my passion and become a reading specialist teacher. I had my own business before moving to England with my family. I not only teach in schools but I have also taught many children in church for many years.

I love the school environment, seeing pupils grow and change, laughing with them and even crying with them.  I love my job. It is so rewarding.

I come from a very small island that only has a population of 61,000 people. Yes 61,000! It is approximately 22 square miles long and 1/2 mile wide.  It is the oldest colony of the United Kingdom. Did you guess it! Bermuda!

I was a member of the Royal Bermuda Regiment Band for nearly ten years and I am one of the first of four women promoted to Sergeant (we were all promoted at the same time) in the history of the amalgamation of the Bermuda Militia Artillery and the Bermuda Rifles in 1965. I love to sing and lead the church women’s choir. I am a published book author as well. I love spending time with my family, crocheting and knitting and spending time with my friends. I even have a walking club!  If you are looking for me and I am not at school you can find me either at home or at church, which is like being at home. My family means the world to me and spending time with them is my greatest pleasure.
