I am currently an Associate Assistant Principal, working primarily within the school’s DEEPs structure β€” our framework for driving improvement across key areas: Deep Experience, Deep Support, Deep Leadership, and Deep Learning. Within this, my main focus is on Teaching and Learning, where I support staff development through instructional coaching, specifically using a model called Deliberate Practice to build high-impact teaching habits.

Alongside this leadership role, I am also the Subject Leader for Geography, where I oversee curriculum planning, teaching quality, and student outcomes within the department.

I’ve been at Millthorpe since 2022, and thoroughly enjoy being part of the caring and supportive community.

Outside of school, I live with my partner and our two animal children – Mackie, a laid-back ragdoll cat, and Toby, our lively beagle. I’m passionate about travel and love exploring new places whenever I can. Experiencing different cultures, food, and ways of life is something I find really exciting and inspiring.

I’d say my hobbies are fairly run-of-the-mill and I’m not usually the adventurous type, but every now and then I surprise myself – like that one time I went skydiving despite being terrified of heights (never again!). I like to keep things interesting in bursts!

One of my more memorable life moments was when I attempted to get a bus license with Arriva. Let’s just say it didn’t quite go to plan… I crashed the bus during the test and had to be driven home by the examiner while I sat sheepishly on the back like a passenger. Not my proudest moment, but it does make for a good story! I think I’ll stick to teaching and let the professionals do their job when it comes to driving buses.
