Mrs V Armitage

My main responsibility as Vice Principal: Learning and Experience is to ensure our students are excited about learning as a result of the curriculum and wider experiences available to them. I am also responsible for ensuring that we have great teaching and that our teachers inspire all children ‘to be the best they can be’ both academically and personally, so that they can contribute positively to society as kind, responsible and respectful young people.

As a qualified SENCO I am dedicated to ensuring all children can succeed, and this desire is obvious throughout the whole community here at Millthorpe.

Before I came to Millthorpe in 2022, I was a senior leader at two schools in West Yorkshire where I lead on behaviour and attitudes and personal development, and I was also a Head of a large sixth form.

The best thing about Millthorpe School is the warm community feel and the united approach from staff and students to ensure that everyone is happy, safe and can succeed. It really is a great place to work and for students to learn.

Outside of school, I am a very proud stepmum to two boys and I love everything about sport – teaching it, watching it and doing it! I’m really into running, yoga and pilates.
