Changing rooms

From Monday 16 May examinations will be held in the gym, so all students will need to change in the Sports Hall changing rooms for PE/Games lessons and sports clubs until further notice.

Year 9 and 10 Iceland trip

A reminder that if you would like your son/daughter to take part in the Iceland trip, please log in to ParentPay, click the consent form and pay the £100 non-returnable deposit by Friday 20 May.

Year 9 Carlton Lodge trip

If your child is going to Carlton Lodge this summer, can you please ensure that the total of £240 has been paid by Wednesday 18 May as advertised previously. We will be paying the venue at the end of next week so it is essential that we have all the funds paid to school by the deadline please.

If there are any issues with meeting this deadline, please contact Mr Newman as soon as possible.

York Sports Awards

The York Sports Awards return to the city for the first time since 2019. The awards celebrate the sporting achievements of athletes of all ages and levels, coaches, administrators and volunteers during 2020 and 2021. In addition, the awards will celebrate the Community Champions who kept their communities active during what was a very difficult time for sport and wellbeing across the city.

Altered States of Consciousness talk

As part of the York Festival of Ideas, award-winning psychologist Harriet Ennis will deliver a fascinating talk with live Q&A, on Altered States of Consciousness.

The event will take place on Monday 20 June, at 5.45-6.45pm in the Arts Centre auditorium at Bootham School.

It is free to attend, but tickets should be obtained via Eventbrite.

Some “ads” look like any other post when actually, they are trying to sell you something. This week’s handy guide from National Online Safety gives you and your children practical tips to spot “ads” when scrolling through social media.

Lifesaving

The Ebor Lifesaving Club is offering the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills either through the RLSS UK Rookie Lifeguard programme for children aged 8-12 or the RLSS UK Survive programme for adults and children over 12.
