Improvement works

The building project to deliver improvements to the dining hall, toilets and other areas across school begins on site on Monday. Whilst the bulk of the work will take place over the summer, we need to start a certain amount of the work now in order to get everything completed ready for September. Inevitably this will cause some disruption but we will be taking a range of measures to make sure it doesn’t affect the GCSE exams and impacts as little as possible on other students’ learning. Those of you who have been around long enough to remember previous projects will know just how resilient and adaptable students and staff at Millthorpe can be in such circumstances and also, hopefully, what a huge difference the finished product makes to students’ experience in the future. If you do have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

This week’s handy guide from National Online Safety is about Discord: a free app which allows users to communicate in real time. Originally aimed at “gamers”, it has evolved into a more general networking platform but, like all apps of this nature, there are risks to young people if precautions are not taken.
